LONE LILY REWORKS

by Laila

in 2023, while in college studying Sustainability, I gained the confidence to start selling my designs. This soon became a business responsible for financing my education, my mom always wanted more than anything for me to earn a college degree and be independent.

I graduated in May 2025 with a Sustainability degree. I decided to continue to choose what I love and grow my small business. I inherited a need to live with purpose from my mom. She was a jewelry designer herself and owned a store called Blonde Bedouin.

Back in 2006 she started her business and instead of designing jewelry from raw materials, she would take apart old jewelry and make it something brand new.

She was resourceful and taught me to alchemize my life with the tools given to me. Growing up we always “worked with what we got”

This ultimately inspired me to create a brand that transforms fabrics and textiles awaiting landfills

my reworks are designed from damage into something beautiful

Why do we need fashion to slow down?

fashion is one of the top polluting industries on the planet, but nobody told us that

92 million tons of fabric waste are dumped every year and often shipped to places we don’t see

most clothes today are ultimately made of plastic and take hundreds of years to break down

yet, most clothing companies are producing more and more polyester daily, continuing this harmful cycle

to minimize waste, I design all of my clothing from damaged or unwanted fabrics
